AHSA and M22 Challenge – Our 4th Year.

by Cade Webb

Members of the AHSA staff will again be participating and competing in the “M22 Challenge,” a nationally-known sprint triathlon event, held the second Saturday of June each year. It originated with the founders of the company, “M22,” which gets its name from a state highway here in Northern Michigan, but in their own words, M22 is, “Beyond a road, a way of life.”

“The M22 lifestyle is marked by the simplicity and appreciation for natural wonders such as bays, beaches and bonfires, dunes and vineyards, cottages, friends and family everywhere. M22 is the feeling you get when you realize there is no other place you would rather be.”

The M22 Challenge begins at 8am, June 13th. It’s a 2.5 mile run, 17 mile bike, and 2.5 mile (kayak, canoe, or SUP) paddle competition held in the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park, recognized as “The Most Beautiful Place in America.” There are dunes to climb, steep hills to surmount, and crowded waters to  traverse in an experience that challenges the legs, arms, heart, and will of 900 contestants ranging from teen to senior ages. In short, it’s a blast, and we’re so fortunate to be able to participate!
