The healthcare staffing market continues to stabilize as 2024 comes to an end. The industry saw monthly open orders decline after steady increases since June. December open orders were just shy of 14,000, with bill rates falling below $80. This normalization suggests ongoing pricing pressures and shifting workforce needs.

Recent seasonal shifts that caused a surge in open orders in the nursing job market showed signs of abating. Nursing open orders in December averaged out to roughly 2,500 and bill rates declined to $75. Fluctuations in both open orders and bill rates continued in the Allied job market. December open orders declined from 1,950 to 1,000, with bill rates ending the year at $84.
